Department of Commerce was established in the year 1963 at Old Campus Hyderabad. Presently this department is functioning in new premises near Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Sindh, Jamshoro. This Department offers three years B.Com (Hons) and two-year M.Com. Programs with specialization in Marketing, Accounting and Finance, in addition to diplomas in business Administration, Banking, Accountancy, Shorthand & Secretariat Practice and in Insurance. M.Phil by coursework under semester system has been started from 1998.

This Department is imparting qualities education. Courses have been designed to equip students with professional skills and knowledge to to take their place as leaders in the world of business, commerce or any other profession they may choose to pursue.

The curriculum is relevant to the changing needs of society and many of the graduates of this Department are currently holding top executive positions mainly in Private Sector as well as in multinational organizations within and out side the country.
